Our Wonderful Wednesday Gang

Wednesday, 4 May 2016

The last 2 weeks…1 cold day and 1 sunny! No matter what the weather, Wednesday afternoons are always busy and always lovely! Look at our bird feeders, climbing, weaving, stick craft, and sensory mud play…

Squirrels and bugs and a monkey’s dinner!

Wednesday, 20 April 2016

A gloriously sunny afternoon brought out lots of wildlife today! We spotted two squirrels…we watched the first one as he climbed a tree and the second one joined us as we played on the swing!

These children had a lovely time looking for creatures all around the site…they found worms, millipedes, spiders and  woodlice…and were very careful and gentle when looking at them.

Look who had a marvellous time, cooking and using every single piece of equipment in the mud kitchen!

Hiding and squelching and lots of sharing

Wednesday, 9 March 2016

Despite the puddles and rain, our small ‘Wonderful Wednesday’s’ group showed us how the Langley Forest magic works! Week after week, we see growing confidence and more and more co-operation, sharing and turn-taking.

From hide and seek to cooking, from amusing pipe noises (and very loud and clear speech!) to helping and supporting their friends on the ropes and swing…we left feeling amazed at how much the children had packed into a wet afternoon!

More Wonderful Wednesdays…

Thursday, 25 February 2016

Our small Wednesday afternoon group have impressed us so much this term. They’ve grown so much in confidence and independence and are now starting to play with rather than alongside one another.

After a spot of mud painting on the trees, we saw some lovely shared cooking and digging. Along with singing and lots of laughter! All finished off with a fabulous game of hide and seek, instigated by one child and followed by the rest of us! It was a real pleasure to see such co-operative play.

Muddy Paint

Wednesday, 10 February 2016

Our Wonderful Wednesday afternoon group had a lovely time making paint today!

First, they filled their pots with soil, then added some water and stirred…

Then they created a muddy work of art. What fun!

Just a few photo’s of our small Wednesday afternoon group, who have been loving every minute of being outdoors!

We’ve seen so much co-operation, turn-taking, sharing, playing together, problem solving, laughter, language, singing, music-making…and lots of enjoyment and fun!

Take a look…
