The 3 little Pigs

This week we will be celebrating World Book Day at Langley. Rowans class decided that the book they are reading this week would be a great addition to Forest School…so we decided to tell the story out in the woods!

We started off our morning by hunting for lots of hidden pictures from the story…

After Mrs. Reid-Kelly had read the book, the children helped to select and then sequence the pictures from the story. We pegged them up on the washing line in order.

Next we worked in small groups  to make our own pictures from the story…

The children worked really hard…and look at how well they created the stick house, the wolf and the pig. We were very impressed indeed!

Some of the children also learnt how to use the bow-saw. They worked in pairs with Mrs Smith, to carefully and safely cut two wood slices each. We will use these in the  coming weeks to make something related to the 3 pigs  story…watch this space!
