The Hugging Tree

There’s no such thing as bad weather…just bad clothing! And with layers and waterproofs on to combat the rain,  Oaks and Firs enjoyed their rainy day outside in Forest School.

In the  morning, Oaks used their hugs to help to find the perfect hugging tree! Once we’d chosen one we liked, we began decorating it…

Firs added some more wool in the afternoon, then helped to put up our ‘hugging tree’ sign…

Some of the children also chose to complete a forest scavenger hunt. They looked for lots of different things and helped to identify or name them…

The mud kitchen was a particular favourite in the wet weather…we think that the collection of rainwater added an extra level of interest! It was great to see such lovely co-operative play here…

…and such deep interest and enjoyment in other chosen activities around the woods.
