Special Event - Cluster Day

1 July 2008

On Tuesday 1st July, Langley School hosted the Reception classes from Coppice, Mere Green, St Josephs and Whitehouse Common and the Language Unit from Mere Green. The theme for the day was 'working together' and we certainly had lots of opportunities to do just that!

With an Olympic theme, each class from Langley teamed up with a class from one of the Cluster schools to represent a country. There were some very spangly flags and banners on display for these countries in the closing parades.

When the children weren't busy personalising their medals, taking part in the teddy bear and jigsaw races or enjoying a range of throwing activities (including javelins - the neighbours got away lightly!), they took time out to watch a production put on by a visiting theatre company.

Despite the heat (seems unbelievable given the rest of the summer), a great time was had by all and lots of new friendships were made, between children and adults!

'Can I make a gold medal, please?'

The 'athletes' replenish energy reserves with a picnic lunch.
