Special Event - Celebrating the Festival of Holi

26 February 2010

On Friday 26th February, the whole school celebrated the festival of Holi (Hindu and Sikh Festival of Colour).

Starting with Beeches sharing the story of Holi in assembly, the children were able to find out more about the festival through a variety of activities throughout the day.

The celebration of colour was a prominent theme as the children took part in a range of art activities although the children also managed to capture the spirit of celebration through their dressing up dancing.

Sharing the story of Holi in assembly – watch out for the elephants!

Dancing and dressing up.

Marble painting - I'm sure there was a marble in here somewhere!

Careful it doesn't run!

Careful not to lose the marble!

Investigating colour – creative sticking!

We made our own fires to burn Holika.

Here's some we made earlier!
