Special Event - Official Opening of Langley and Coppice Schools

19 November 2010

On Friday 19th November we celebrated the official opening of our schools. We were privileged to welcome the Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove, and the MP for Sutton Coldfield, Andrew Mitchell. They arrived in the early evening and spoke to parents, children and guests assembled in the school hall. They then pulled open curtains to reveal a commemorative plaque.

The children had celebrated earlier in the day with a visit from two entertainers followed by lunch and activities in the afternoon which ranged from cooking to working with robots and computer software.

Special guests had been invited and were shown round by children from the two schools. They were surprised to be interviewed by 'roving reporters' who accosted them with microphones and cameras to catch a lasting memento of the day.
