Poplars snowy, icy day

Poplars made the most of the cold snowy weather this morning!
We investigated some sheets of ice, looking closely at the beautiful patterns inside through a magnifying lens.

Later on in the morning, when everyone had explored the ice, we had a go at breaking it up...which was great fun! We also carefully stood on and cracked the ice that had formed in the tuff-tray.
We also used the weather to help us make our own ice sculptures...by placing some string in a tub, filling it with natural resources and then pouring in water. We left the tubs to freeze outside and look forward to looking at them later in the week...
We kept ourselves warm by keeping ACTIVE. Log pulling was a great activity to get the heart pumping!
