Acers -Blackberry tie-dye

A really lovely afternoon with Acers today...we worked really hard to make lots of things!
Not only did we make some lovely cheerio bird feeders (a special request last week from one of the children) but also concentrated carefully on threading  different leaves to make some leaf mobiles. 
 

We also had a fabulous time tie-dying fabric, using squashed blackberries to make a beautiful purple colour. We placed confers behind our cloth then used elastic bands to wrap them up tightly in the material. Then we used a pestle and mortar to squash the blackberries and poured the juice into a bucket. We swirled the cloth around in the bucket until it turned purple. Next week we will open up the dried cloths to see what patterns we have created...
