What a fabulous sunny summer term we have had, with lots of different classes going out to Forest School with one of our three Forest School leaders.
Welcome to the summer term round up for Saplings, Larches, Poplars, Oaks, Beeches, Maples, Willows and Hollies.
Saplings class have had a wonderful term completing lots of exploratory, investigative and sensory activities,  focusing on The Gruffalo story during the second half term. We are so proud of how much they have grown in confidence, independence, and resilience over the year.
As we say farewell to the year 6’s in Poplars and Larches, we are happy to have shared so many Forest School memories with them over the years. Their last half term in Summer 1 was full of fun and learning…
Poplars
Larches
Hollies and Maples have done lots of work based on the wonderful story of Superworm. Have a look at all the things they’ve experienced, including making land art of the story characters, cutting hazel sticks with loppers to make magic wands, creating potions and spells with ingredients from all the characters and making beads out of elder sticks then threading them together to make Superworm.

Hollies
Maples
Oaks have engaged beautifully with all sorts of sensory based play including mud making and painting, chalk painting, water play, as well as investigating different textures such as seeds, conkers, pine cones and acorns.
Beeches have loved using the tools this term-focussing mainly on hammers and screwdrivers. They have learnt to use them safely whilst practicing their skills. They have also loved using the giant bubbles, getting really good at making their bubbles independently. Well done Beeches too for engaging really well in all the sensory activities we have explored.
Willows have done lots of work on mini-beasts this term. We made worms from playdoh, threaded elder bead caterpillars and made hapa-zome butterflies using lots of different petals. We also  made sun catchers using lots of different coloured leaves and petals, and had fun with sensory water, mud and seed play.
