It was Oaks turn to pick and paint with blackberries this week…they had a marvellous time squishing them and mixing them with water…

They are such an inquisitive group and we love watching, exploring and learning with them.
We really enjoyed their forest school show, complete with rhymes songs and special forest dancing. All introduced using stick microphones!
Rowans class worked together to make blackberry playdoh. They were brilliant at waiting and taking turns to add the ingredients. Once it was made, we played with it…and left it out for Cedars class to make mini playdoh blackberries with during the afternoon
Cedars class were excited to have the opportunity to use the fire strikers today, to practise making mini fairy-fires, in preparation for a fire next week. They remembered how to sit and how to hold the striker and were thrilled when their spark made the cotton wool catch light.

They also worked together to hang up the blackberry painted bunting they made last week…
All classes enjoyed experimenting with some of our autumn treasures this week. We set up a track using the guttering and crates and rolled pine cones and conkers down into a box…
Lots of scientific investigation and thinking skills were in action!
