We have made the most of our blackberries again this week; making blackberry play-doh and using them to tie-dye a huge class banner…

Beeches took turns to measure and add flour, salt, oil, cream of tartar, water and crushed blackberries into a big bowl. We all mixed it up and watched it turn into a ball of dough…and then enjoyed playing with it. We used leaf shaped cutters to make playdoh leaves.

Acers used acorns and string to make patterns and shapes in a large piece of material. We crushed blackberries, added some water and then dipped the material into the dye. We have left it to dry and will remove the string next week…
Beeches also had fun exploring, cutting and mixing up strong smelling herbs into potions…making numbers using acorns, as well as independent and self selected activities.
Acers love to get up close and personal with our woodland minibeasts!
Firs class had their first session today…our youngest children had fun exploring the site and trying out different activities and areas.
