What a beautiful start to the summer term we have had this week. Lots of lovely sunshine and lots of children happy to be back out in Forest School.
Our first topic this term is the Kings Coronation, and this week we have had lots of forest fun whilst learning about King Charles…

Oaks children looked around the site and found lots of pictures…of the King, the Queen, a crown, a carriage etc.
They named the pictures, then we focussed on the crown and set about making our own very special forest school crowns…
Cedars and Larches had a marvellous time, hunting for facts about the King…
When all the facts had been found, we returned to the log  circle and circle and took turns to read them out.
We learnt that King Charles is very interested in nature and in looking after our planet. We talked about how we could look after nature and our own environment whilst out in Forest School.
We had a go at doing some of the things we discussed…litter picking, looking after and feeding the birds and caring for the trees, by weeding the hundreds of tiny sycamore saplings that have sprouted up in the last few weeks. We left many of them to grow, but picked the ones that were on the paths.
