Easter treats

Firs had a fabulous last morning in Forest School this week. They enjoyed lots of activities including  playing with daisies…pulling off the petals, crushing them with the mortar and pestle and mixing them into little egg cups of water; threading leaves, climbing, rolling balls, counting, digging and swinging! What a fun and busy time we all had!
For their last session, Larches had asked if we could make s’mores over the fire, so that is exactly what we did! We worked together to build and light the fire then left The flames to die down a bit before cooking the marshmallows over the embers.

Whilst we were waiting for this, we went on an Easter picture hunt… looking around the woods to find different pictures with a stamper close by. Everyone had to collect seven different stamps and bring them back to the fire circle when complete. The prize for finding all 7 pictures and stamps, was a chocolate egg.
Once the embers in the fire pit were hot enough, we took turns to toast a marshmallow and then when cooked, we placed in between one plain and one chocolate digestive to make our s’mores. They were really delicious!
Poplars worked inside today-they also completed the Easter picture and stamper hunt and enjoyed their chocolate egg with a lovely cup of hot chocolate for their tuck.

They also made these beautiful Easter bunny pictures using dandelions leaves and a hammer…
