Both Maples and Oaks classes enjoyed using the simple rope pulley systems this week, to raise the buckets from the ground up into the air. They had to figure out which rope to pull, and how to pull it! We practiced using our muscles by filling the buckets with heavier logs, and really improved our technique of ‘hand-over -hand’ during the session. The children also pulled some ‘logs-dogs’ along the ground-again, building up their stamina and muscles as they did so.

Maples also worked really hard in the digging pit...sieving soil then transporting it in the wheelbarrow to our wooden planters. We filled a planters, then all took a turn at planting a daffodil bulb, ready for next Spring.
Oaks had a lovely messy morning making mud and painting with it.  They also made some Autumn discovery bottles to take home, and enjoyed lots of fun activities. They sat beautifully for hot chocolate and a biscuit in the log circle at the end of the session.
