Flower parts with Rowans

Rowans started their afternoon by looking closely again at the plants and weeds which we had studied last week.

They then worked together to help make this enormous picture of a plant, complete with stalk, roots, flower and leaves.
We filled pots with compost, planted sunflower seeds in them and then watered them to help them grow…
Some of the children helped to do some weeding.
At this time of year, we get hundreds of small sycamore seeds emerging all along the forest pathways. We like to keep a few but need to remove the rest so that we are not over run! We looked closely at what the seedlings looked like before beginning to pick them.
There was lots of concentration on this leaf threading activity
